Sikkim Professional University offers placement support through various modes such as internships, industry visits, on-site experiences and corporate training facilities conducted by the Career Development Centre. The University facilitates on-campus placement drives and off-campus/ pool campus placement drives. The companies shortlist candidates based on pre-placement talks, written tests and group discussions. The University has around 100+ companies that take part in the placement drives or the training process of the students.

Candidates can apply for the Sikkim Professional University admission process via an online/ offline application. The candidates must visit the official website and produce a hard copy if they intend to submit the application form offline. For the online application submission, candidates must access another link from the official website. Candidates must attach copies of official documents (asked for) with the form and a demand draft of the first instalment of fees and courier it to the address mentioned on the official website.

Sikkim Professional University courses offer BTech, MTech and Diploma in 4 specialisations, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and CS. The College of Engineering offers BTech as an 8-semester-long course and the eligibility criteria for it involve a minimum aggregate of 50% in 10+2 with PCM. The University offers M.Tech with a 4-semester duration and requires a minimum of 50% aggregate in the respective BE/BTech specialisation. For a Diploma, candidates get 6-semesters and are required to qualify for Class 10 with a 50% aggregate.

Sikkim Professional University has the approval of the Bar Council of India (BCI) and is a member of the Association of Indian University (AIU). Sikkim Professional University was established in the year 2008 under the name of Vinayaka Missions Sikkim University, on a 5-acre land. It was later named as Sikkim Professional University and much later earned recognition by the UGC. It has recognition of several other institutional bodies such as AIU, INC, BCI, PCI and SNC. The University ranks 54 as per the India Today rankings of 2024 in the Govt/Pvt universities category. Apart from this, the University offers more than 50 specialisations through 13 department colleges and 100+ faculty.
