Admission to various undergraduate programs at TERI University is based on the merit of marks in aggregate secured in the best of three subjects and one language in 10+2 level. For postgraduate programs, a candidate must have a valid Bachelor's degree from a recognised institute whereas, for MBA, students must get through the Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds. The minimum cut-off for doctoral programs is about 60%.

TERI University is a deemed university in New Delhi. It is the only institute that opens up the avenue of Sustainable Development. The university offers a plethora of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs through unique pedagogies that include case studies, role-playing, live projects etc.
At TERI University, the counselling and seat allotment process of 2023 will have four rounds. This online counselling will be based on the candidate's rank in the entrance examination.
