The requirements for admission to the various UGI programmes vary; for example, the UPSEE or UGI admission test is required for admission to the B.Tech programme. Candidates may apply online by visiting the institutes official website or offline by downloading and mailing a completed application form to the organisation. Candidates with a 10+2 Diploma and a minimum marks of 45% (40% for SC/ST Category candidates) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are eligible to apply. The results of the UPSEE will be used to determine admission to the B.Tech programme.

The following scholarships are available to students based on merit and are offered by UGI to help eligible applicants grow and be motivated:
Merit Scholarship for BBA and BCA Based on the results of the 10+2 examination: Class 12th Marks Scholarship Amount (INR) 90% and above 20,000 80% - 89.99% 15,000 70% - 79.99% 10,000
Shiv Jyoti Scholarship for B.Tech. - All B.Tech applicants who enter any of the UGI Institutes and have a UPSEE General Rank between 1 and 10,000 (in UPSEE 2019) would be eligible for this scholarship, which can range from INR 5,000 to INR 50,000.
