Birla College of Nursing is strict when it comes to the eligibility requirements of B.Sc. in Nursing. The candidate should have completed 17 years of age and not exceeding 28 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission. They should have passed two-year pre-university examination with physics, chemistry, Biology and English with minimum of 50% aggregate marks for General candidates and 40% or more aggregate marks for ST/SC and physically challenged candidates. A domicile certificate of continuous 5 years stay in West Bengal on the date of application is also required. The candidate should be medically fit. Admission is based on JENPAUH rank through online counseling.

- She should be a resident of West Bengal uninterruptedly for at least ten years, preceding the date of making the application for admission.
- The candidate should be medically fit.
- The applicant should have passed (10+2) examination, with a minimum 45% in aggregate with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and pass in English Core/English Elective for General Candidates.

It is important to note that the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani does not have a B.Sc. Nursing programme for registration on the Common Admission Test. It is mainly concentration in engineering, science and management faculties. If you are pointing to another Birla College of Nursing then it must be noted that majority of the nursing colleges in India including the Birla Group of colleges demands minimum 50 percent marks in Class XII with Physics, Chemistry, Biology for B. Sc. Nursing. Admission could be based on merit or entrance examination, nonetheless, details of the various cutoffs pertaining to admission in nursing could be procured from the university.
