Admissions to the BDS programme shall be done on the basis of the merit list as ascertained from the performance of the candidates in the National Eligibility and Entrance Test. The candidate must have passed the qualifying examination, i.e., the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC/12th Standard) or equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology). A candidate belonging to the open category must have obtained not less than 50% (i.e., 150 out of 300) marks in physics, chemistry, and biology taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) examination. A candidate belonging to a constitutional reservation or a person with a disability claim must have obtained not less than 40% (i.e., 120 out of 300) marks in physics, chemistry, and biology taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) examination. A person with a disability candidate in the general category must secure not less than 45% marks (i.e., 135 out of 300) in physics, chemistry, and biology (PCB) taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) examination.

Central counselling will be handled by DGHS New Delhi, and admissions to the BDS programme will be based on the merit list determined by the candidates' performance in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 2023 administered by National Testing Agency (NTA), Delhi. An eligibility-cum-ranking test called (MCC) NEET-UG is required as a single entrance exam for different BDS programmes. No other entrance exam, whether state- or institution-level, will be accepted for admission to the BDS programme.
