GIBS Business School has set certain eligibility criteria for admission to the BBA and PGDM programs, which would filter the candidates with appropriate academic background and aptitude for entering management education. Students seeking admission to the BBA programme must have passed 10+2 or any equivalent examination from any recognised board in any stream with an aggregate of around 50%. Students who are appearing for their exams in the 12th standard may also apply on a provisional basis. Admission of NRI applicants is based on academic merit and GD & PI. Documents needed for admission in the case of NRIs are 10th and 12th mark sheets, transfer certificate, and photographs. For the PGDM course at GIBS, the candidate should possess a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognised University with at least 50% marks. Even students in their final year can apply on a provisional basis for the same. The programme requires the candidate to have a valid score in entrance examinations such as CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT, ATMA, or state CETs. In the selection process, work experience and additional qualifications are given additional marks. NRI or company-sponsored candidates can also apply on the basis of academic merit followed by GD and PI, with necessary academic and identification documents.

GIBS follows the "Learning by Doing" model; therefore, most of the coursework is hands-on and practical. As their pedagogy goes, only approximately 30% of the course work is purely theoretical, and the remaining 70% constitutes experiential learning in the form of case studies, live projects, simulation games, role-plays, action learning, and group work.Classes are highly interactive; students are continuously asked to present, summarize, debate, or reflect on the topics just discussed. GIBS also incorporates industry expertise in the classroom through guest lectures and industry experts, while connecting theory back to practical business problems. GIBS focuses on all-round development: the "90 Days to 9 Months" model emphasizes developing a growth mindset first and then domain-specific skills. They also emphasize development across IQ, EQ, SQ, and HQ-in other words, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and happiness quotients.
