The Return on Investment (ROI) at GIBS Business School for Students: For the PGDM/MBA program, tuition is approximately ₹8.50-₹9.50 Lakhs for two years (not including hostel/other expenses). Our current placement data show average salaries received during the last recruitment cycle, which were ₹7.40-₹8.20 Lacs per annum (lpa), with top package (s) of approximately ₹16.15-₹20 LPA and, thus, students will typically have recovered outlays after one year of employment (after tax) - thus demonstrating a relatively high ROI in comparison to private B-schools.The BBA programme has total tuition of roughly ₹4.60 Lakhs. Based on employment results for recent graduating classes, average salary ranges are approximately ₹4 - ₹6 Lacs per annum (as documented in numerous placement reports). Given this, a positive ROI will likely be obtained within 1-2 years after completing their degrees. In conclusion, given the relatively modest cost of attendance at GIBS relative to other B-schools in Bangalore and mid-tier employment outcomes, both the PGDM/MBA and BBA offer good to high ROIs. Most graduates quickly recoup tuition expenses, and many are able to earn good salaries shortly after beginning their careers.

It's not just about saying “global exposure” on brochures — they actually bring people from outside. We had MIT alumni, global speakers, and faculty from abroad conducting bootcamps, workshops, and sessions. Some of us even got to work on cross-cultural projects and presentations with them, which really pushes you to think beyond the Indian market. GIBS also has academic tie-ups and exchange opportunities, especially for those who want to explore entrepreneurship or international business. It builds confidence because you start seeing how business works in other countries, not just from textbooks. Personally, I feel it helped broaden my mindset and made the whole PGDM journey more global and industry-oriented rather than typical classroom learning.

GIBS has established an extensive and varied corporate network that continually provides students with placement, internship, and industry engagement opportunities in many different sectors. This year alone over 260 companies visited the campus for recruiting during the recent placement cycle illustrating a wide variety of companies from which students can be placed versus relying on too few. The key industries from which these companies represent are banking & finance, IT/Consulting, FMCG/E-Commerce, Analytics, Manufacturing and Supply chain/Operations which provide students with placement opportunities in finance, marketing, HR and Operations to Analytics and Digital business. In addition to traditional corporate recruitment, startups and emerging businesses are heavily involved in placement and internship drive programs across GIBS providing fast-growing opportunities, flexible roles and entrepreneurial experience that complement traditional corporate recruiting. The combination of large corporations recruiting at GIBS combined with the entrepreneurial experience provided by startup companies offers students a wide range of career options based on their individual strengths and preferences.Overall, the breadth and multi-sectors of GIBS corporate network as well as now including startups, significantly adds to the practical experience student have as well as the relevance of their degrees leading to higher possibility of being hired upon graduating from either the PGDM or BBA program.

The classrooms became more interactive, the library became a proper study zone, and there are more spaces for discussions and group work now. Even the teaching feels more practical with case studies, activities, and corporate-style sessions happening regularly. The new campus gives a modern and serious business school vibe where workshops, talks, and placement-related sessions feel more professional. Overall, the facilities and setup make learning more real and connected to the industry, not just theory.

They keep connecting topics to real corporate situations and then turn those into small projects, assignments, or case studies that we work on as teams. Many of our sessions are followed by guest talks where someone from the industry explains how the same concept works in actual companies, which makes it easier to understand and apply. Because of this format, classes feel more like exposure and training rather than just notes and PPTs. As a student, I personally like this method because it gives confidence for internships and placements and makes the subjects more practical and interesting.

For BBA, you basically just need to have passed Class 12 from any stream — commerce, science, arts, whatever. The admission mainly depends on academics + interview, and they focus more on interest and attitude than just marks. For PGDM, it's graduates from any field (even non-commerce — like in my case) and you need to have written at least one management entrance like CAT, MAT, CMAT, etc. After that, they take you through GD/PI where they actually check your fit, communication, and clarity about why you want to do PGDM.One thing I liked personally is that they don't reject people just because they don't come from a business background — they actually guide you properly and make sure you settle into the curriculum. It feels more supportive than gatekeeping.

The process is almost the same — you still have to go through interviews, screening, and discussions. One thing I noticed as a student is that GIBS doesn't compromise on the quality part just because someone comes through management quota. They still make sure the person has clarity, confidence, and the right mindset for the PGDM environment. It just gives more flexibility for students who want to join but don't want to depend solely on exams.

Students consistently describe GIBS faculty as being involved and supportive of students through events, during sessions on-orientation and mentoring on campus. At orientation programs, professors have been described as approachable guides, helping new students better understand the program's curriculum, expectations, and learning culture, easing their transition into management studies and building their confidence towards the program. At events and interactive sessions, faculty have often acted as moderators/mentors/judges, sharing real-world experiences and encouraging active student participation in the learning process. Many students have mentioned that they can contact their professors outside class hours for questions and support regarding their projects and career paths, and that the faculty fosters an environment of learning and development.

Even before joining, their admission team guides you properly about what exams to take, how the scoring works, and what matters more for PGDM.For students like us, they also clear doubts about CAT/MAT/CMAT/XAT etc., cutoffs, scholarship criteria, timelines, and even how to fill applications without messing up. It makes the process way easier and less stressful. Most of us didn't come with a “perfect plan, ” so having someone explain everything in simple language helps. They also conduct webinars and counseling sessions for clarity. It's not spoon-feeding, but it's definitely a good support when you're figuring out MBA/PGDM admissions.
