GIBS maintains its academic curriculum's relevance to today's business environment by having ongoing interaction with the business community. As such, GIBS consults with industry experts when creating/updating course content; utilizes live projects, case studies, and internships to support students' learning; and provides students with additional certification options that meet the demands of the marketplace. In addition, GIBS receives ongoing feedback from both recruiters and alumni, which is used to continue improving the teaching methods at GIBS to better prepare graduates for current and emerging business challenges and trends.

The GIBS has invested in creating a supportive environment for students through its new campus. Students will experience an enhanced ability to focus during their studying and downtime by providing a calm and thoughtful design with a focus on student need. The classrooms are equipped with modern technology and large windows providing ample natural light, along with designated academic quiet zones, which will assist students in concentrating during lectures and while studying independently. The open green spaces, courtyard areas, and communal areas allow for an opportunity to recharge during breaks in between class periods. Within the new facility, there are also areas designed specifically for student recreation and relaxation that provide a distraction-free environment to relax and rejuvenate mentally, increasing productivity. The entire GIBS campus is a well-designed combination of structure and space to allow students the opportunity to remain engaged, motivated, and energized throughout each day.

The faculty at GIBS draw on their academic knowledge as well as their professional careers to develop a learning environment where students can learn practically. All work that students complete will be based on a current live project which has allowed them to deal with a real business situation, usually working with a real company. The professionals in the industry bring guest speakers, who present the speaker's thoughts based on their experience, provide a case study of the work completed, and talk about the issues the students are addressing as part of the assignment. Students who participate in these classes are performing the work normally completed in a lecture setting by converting the lectures to an interactive seminar-type setting. Students will learn how a business operates, as well as how to apply what they learn in the classroom. Credits and interdisciplinary academic credit can be achieved through interactions with industry professionals while preparing them to enter professions that require the theoretical knowledge and application of practical work.

Moderate and consistent cut-off trends have been observed by GIBS over the past few years for various national entrance exams (CAT MAT) with respect to PGDM applicants. The general trend of CAT cutoffs for shortlisting PGDM applicants has been 60%ile, although this has been interpreted more as an average than an absolute figure. This is a clear example of GIBS using a holistic admissions policy for its applicants and not just relying on the CAT scores.The trend for cutoff scores for MAT has also shown to be similar, albeit slightly higher (63%-65%ile) for actual competitive scores, as well as consistent throughout the last 3 or 4 admissions cycles. Because of this, the cutoffs for both exam types are fairly predictable for those wishing to apply to GIBS. Ultimately though, the totality of a candidate's application (the interview, the group discussion, and the academic consistency and work attitude) is what determines whether or not he/she will be admitted.

At GIBS, students receive ample academic assistance and placements while pursuing extracurricular activities by providing a structured, helping campus environment of assistance. The academic calendar at GIBS is designed so that all aspects of student education can be completed through practical project-based learning methods. Consequently, this means that students are not left with additional burdens when studying for university assessments alone.In conjunction with this process, GIBS provides placement training (aptitude tests, soft skills training, interview preparation and resume development) on an annual basis, and allows students to go through this process over several phases instead of one continuous time period, which allows them to work through this training in an easier and more manageable manner.Additionally, GIBS encourages its students to be active members of various student societies, participate in sports and cultural events, and participate in leadership and team-building activities, which provide students with the opportunity to relieve themselves from the academic and extracurricular burdens of the day.With assistance from faculty mentors, fellow students, and a structured, balanced life outside of classes, students at GIBS are able to achieve their academic, professional and personal development while eliminating the stress and pressure associated with being a college or university graduate.

Mentors work with students to formulate research questions, develop the methodology for projects, gather data, analyze their findings, and present them in research papers and presentations. Mentors provide regular feedback on student projects and oversee the progress of students through their thesis review and research review processes. Many times the outcome of these projects can result in a published paper or participation in a research conference.Live Industry Projects – GIBS partners with corporations to provide students with actual business challenges and problems to solve through their industry studies. Live industry projects develop a range of skills including analytical reasoning, decision-making, and execution skills. GIBS follow-up on all projects by allowing students to present their findings to an audience of industry experts.IRE Platform (Innovation, Research and Entrepreneurship) – IRE is GIBS's flagship initiative that provides students with hands-on learning opportunities. The IRE platform enables students to conceptualize their business ideas, test their business plans, develop and construct their minimum viable products, and receive feedback on their projects from industry experts. GIBS supports the creativity and development of innovators, entrepreneurs, and new ideas by creating new business models and using experiential learning via programs including the IRE Module, which is all about Innovation, Research, and Entrepreneurship; live project assistance; mentoring for new start-ups; and experiential workshops. Through these programs, students tackle various 'real-life' business problems, create business start-up ideas, participate in multiple seminars and business competitions and take part in the IRE Talk series; internships and certification opportunities also assist in building the portfolio for students. On-going support and feedback is provided by GIBS faculty members and various industry professionals in order for the students to build their skills in practicality, develop an entrepreneurial mindset, and be confident in applying the concepts learned from the classroom to 'real-life' situations.

At GIBS, students commonly complete projects, case studies or other similar assignments as part of a team that will have different backgrounds and job titles coming together to create solutions for a client's problem, (task) provided by a faculty member or industry partner for real-world business challenges. All participants within the team have defined responsibilities which include but are not limited to: ResearcherAnalyst PresenterCoordinatorBy defining these roles and expectations, it allows for high levels of accountability among team members. Teams will explore brainstorming as a means to generate idea (s), collect data from different sources (market, etc.), debate and discuss each other's ideas about the best way forward to achieve objectives, and finally apply what they have learned in class to real-world situations. Once a team has developed and implemented their solution (s), they will present their solution (s) back to the instructor using a combination of written reports and live presentations. As a result, each team has the opportunity to work collaboratively with fellow classmates, develop their leadership and communication skills, and improve their problem-solving abilities; thus, all skills necessary for success in the corporate world.

It is a commonly held view among students that faculty members at GIBS are highly engaged in and supportive of students during orientations and mentorship on campus. Faculty members at GIBS are welcoming to new students, and they provide guidance about the academic expectations for coursework as well as about the curricular flow and the culture of the GIBS campus during these orientation programs. Faculty members participate in most events and interactive sessions in many capacities; they often serve as event moderators, judges, or mentors and provide students with real-life scenarios and encourage them to become involved. A large percentage of students reported that faculty members are very accessible after classes, and they personally mentor students on internships, project proposals, career planning, and skill building. Overall, the amount of faculty involvement has been identified as a major strength of the GIBS experience, because it results in faculty members being supportive, accessible, and invested in the learning and development of students.
