Each student is paired with a faculty mentor who regularly assists them on an individual basis with academic support, pathway to an appropriate career, and personal development. The faculty mentor is expected to assist the mentee in SWOT analysis, goal establishment (for a career), and overcoming obstacles both academically and professionally.Students will also interact with industry mentors and business executives through guest speaker events, workshops and leadership forums. These successful individuals can provide students with valuable real-world information and insight into the various facets of a career, industry expectations, and the skills necessary to be successful.To ensure that students remain on track for academic success and placement readiness, regular feedback and performance appraisals will be conducted between students and their mentors as well as with career-based counselors. By using a total mentoring approach, GIBS assists students in their development by increasing their confidence, clarity, and readiness for their chosen profession during their time at GIBS.

Students are trained to be leaders through academic classes, hands-on experiences and a set curriculum for developing their leadership abilities. The curriculum consists of case studies, group projects, presentations and management simulations in order for students to develop decision making capabilities, problem solving and strategic thinking abilities.Students have the opportunity to assume active roles on campus by participating in clubs, planning events and being involved with school initiatives, which provide them with real leadership experiences due to their involvement with managing teams and responsibilities. Workshops regularly held on topics such as effective communication, personality development and corporate etiquette reinforce students' confidence and interpersonal skills.Furthermore, students gain valuable insight into real-world business scenarios through mentorship from both professors as well as people who are considered leaders within the industry, internship opportunities and live/ongoing project work provide students with practical experience in leadership development and industry contacts that will assist them in developing the skill set and the mindset necessary to be successful leaders and managers in the corporate business environment.

The faculty at GIBS integrates real-world business practices with educational content through use of; case studies, live projects, internships, site visits, and regular visits from industry guest speakers. GIBS also incorporates; finishing-school modules/tools, communication/aptitude training sessions, and leadership workshops into their instructional curriculum, all of which are often underutilised in competitive B-schools. GIBS provides a comprehensive learning environment, as every instructor has both academic credentials, and valued industry experience. The overall delivery of the academic programme at GIBS is very interactive, tactical, and industry-focused; therefore, students will graduate with theoretical knowledge and practical skills that will equip them to perform in today's work places.

The training begins with a series of finishing-school modules that include; aptitude training, communication skills, group discussions, and mock interviews, all of which will help students feel confident and prepared for a successful interview experience.Other forms of support for students in the preparation process include resume-building workshops, personality development sessions, and corporate etiquette training which all help students effectively present themselves to potential employers during the recruitment process. Students also have the opportunity to attend guest lectures, leadership talks, and interact with industry professionals. By interacting with professionals, students gain an understanding of the expectations an employer will have and what behaviour an employee should demonstrate in the workplace.Through internships, live projects and mentoring from industry experts, students will also have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and practical exposure so they are well prepared for an interview and, ultimately, a successful career path.
