At GIBS Business School, the basics for getting into BBA and PGDM are pretty straightforward and student-friendly.For BBA, most of us just needed to have finished 10+2 (high school) from a recognised board. It doesn't always hinge on super high marks — if you meet the basic education requirement, you're good to proceed with the admission steps. There might be some personal interview or internal process, but it's not overly strict. For PGDM, the usual requirement is a graduation degree (any discipline) from a recognised university. Many of my friends got in with a good academic record, and while competitive exam scores (like CAT/MAT/XAT) can help, GIBS also offers direct admission routes without those scores, so it's more flexible for those who didn't take those tests. The focus is on your overall profile, interview performance, and readiness for management studies.

While GIBS Business School and the International Institute of Business Studies are some of the well-known management institutes in Bangalore, campus culture, the way one learns, and placement outcomes differ. Comparing both will help students decide on what matters to them the most: whether it's ROI, exposure, or learning experience altogether.Reputation & Growth: GIBS is known as a fast-growing B-school with strong industry-oriented learning, while IIBS is an established institute with wider brand visibility.Learning Approach: GIBS lays immense emphasis on practical learning, dual specialization, workshops, and corporate exposure, whereas IIBS follows a more traditional academic structure.Placements: GIBS offers an average package around ₹7–8 LPA with the highest package of ~₹16 LPA. IIBS claims higher top packages, but these are usually offered to a handful of students.Campus Environment: GIBS is known for vibrant student life, events, clubs, and innovation-based learning; IIBS offers structured academic routines with additional training modules.ROI: GIBS offers good ROI since it has reasonably moderate fees and continuous on-campus placement; IIBS offers good ROI based on your specialisation and location.Specializations: Flexible dual specializations are offered at GIBS. IIBS provides various choices for MBA/PGDM with location-based choices.Suitability: GIBS is ideal for students looking for practical exposure and a modern learning environment; IIBS suits those preferring traditional structure and a broader institutional network.
