First about academics, how good is academics depends on your interest in academics. This is best for few and also the worst for few because here you are taught to survive in extreme of diversity rather than forced to study and secure marks at cost of your enjoyment. If you are very interested, their are so many teachers to help you any time infact after certain time they become like your best friends and if u don't care about studies no one is gonna to ask about it before your exams and at that time too you will do it by yourself because now you are left with no other options. Honestly other colleges of mumbai are little bit better in terms of academics. Here you can put this at number three or four out of four major medical colleges of mumbai. But best part of grant medical college is about its college life. This part will surely take out best from you even if you are 1% interested. At this junction you will realise why you are in one of the finest medical college of this country and one thing is sure that once you are in professional line one word will erase out of your dictionary forever and that word is failure because GMCites can survive in tougher situations better and any medico. And so when it comes to college life grant medical college is far ahead of any other college of mumbai. And one very honest thing, you will feel best about this institution probably when you are out of this college in your professional world or you will meet your senior GMCites who are working successfully and enjoying life better than any.

I’m sorry but I couldn’t find any information regarding the restrictions in girls' hostel regarding phone use and hostel timings to go out at Grant Government Medical College. However, I found an article that says that the Kerala government has issued an order putting an end to gender discrimination in the restrictions imposed on UG students at the hostels in the medical and dental colleges. Both girl and boy students can enter the hostel after 9.30 pm by entering the details in the movement register, as per the order. This is applicable to students from second year onwards. However, first-year students have to return to the hostel by 9.30pm itself. If the student fails to return before this time, they would have to give the parents’ note to the warden. After 9.30pm, students in the second year and above have to show their identity card to the security personnel at the gate. They should also enter the timing and sign in the movement register.Parents should be allowed to check their children’s details entered in the register if they request so.
