NID Gandhinagar accepts scores from two entrance exams for admission to its programs: the NID Entrance Exam (DAT) and GATE. Candidates can choose to apply using either DAT or GATE scores, but not both. The selection process for admission considers both the entrance exam scores and the candidate's portfolio, academic background, and experience. NID Entrance Exam (DAT)The DAT is a comprehensive aptitude test that assesses candidates' design skills, problem-solving abilities, and creative potential. The exam consists of two parts:DAT Prelims: A screening test that eliminates candidates who do not demonstrate the basic aptitude for design.DAT Mains: A more detailed assessment of design skills, including concept development, sketching, problem-solving, and communication. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)GATE is a national-level entrance exam for admission to postgraduate programs in engineering and technology. Candidates can apply for M.Des programs at NID Gandhinagar using their GATE scores in relevant design disciplines.
