The institute provides summer internship opportunities. The internship generally takes 6 weeks, post which a certificate is awarded to the participants. The final-year students are eligible to apply for summer internships. The students must hold a minimum of 75% attendance to be eligible for summer internships. The institute also shortlists the candidates on the basis of their performance in the mini-project conducted at the end of the course. 

Admission to certificate programmes at NIELIT Delhi is based on merit and performance on the entrance exam. Also, admission to long-term programmes like NIELIT O level, A level, and CHM O level is based on the NIELIT exam and the Institute's eligibility requirements.

The library contains a wide range of international publications as well as countless volumes in various subjects. During sports week, many athletic activities take place. There are many curriculums on the day of foundation, and around 10 to 15 clubs are active throughout the year.The college's infrastructure is of the highest quality. Supposedly if under unforeseen circumstances you fail an internal exam, you don't have to worry because you will be getting an option to reappear for the exam and give a retest. A candidate must submit a new application through the TP and pay the necessary exam cost to be considered for the same position. Such cases would be arranged in conjunction with the upcoming primary exam, which would take place at the exam site or any other nearby center. NIELIT has currently 04 Boy's hostels functioning in the campus, built based on contemporary architecture. The hostels are named after the "Industrial Professional Hostel (IP Hostel), P.G. Hostel, Swami Vivekananda B.Tech. Hostel and Diploma Hostel Each of these hostel-blocks has well-ventilated rooms designed to accommodate students on shared occupancy basis. The hostel rooms are furnished with cots, study-tables, chairs, cupboards and bookshelves, enabling comfortable stay and to ensure a learning conducive environment. Each floor has common washrooms with modern sanitation facilities. Hygiene and cleanliness of the rooms, floors and surroundings are taken care of by routine house-keeping services.
