I'm afraid, we cannot comment about any other college but before you make your decision do take into consideration the scope of growth & employment in the IT sector as compared to other sectors in India as of now.

Plus at the start of the first semester, the institute conducts a bridge course to make students understand the basics of telecom.

As long as you have a good liking towards learning new technologies there is no harm in opting for SITM. If you wish to pursue career in pure finance I would advice you against joining SITM. A lot of CA students have been our alumnus but chose to stick with ICT domain in spite of having a chance to clear CA.

Does SITM consider work experience while shortlisting for GD-PI or only SNAP marks are considered?

Both are taken into account.Valid experience can cover considerable ground for you if your SNAP score is on the lower side, but one has to really prove themselves in the interview once a call is received.
