The choice between CAT and IPMAT is based on the career goal. CAT is the most recognised test for admission into MBA programs, mainly for those who have completed their undergraduate studies. It is accepted by the top management institutes like IIMs. Whereas IPMAT is targeted at those students who would like to join directly for a 5-year integrated programme BBA+MBA immediately after schools and institutes such as IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak are providing this integrated program. And if one looks for the MBA, post-graduation CAT would be more suitable for it.

You can definitely prepare for CAT and if you prepare well you might even get 99+percentile. But, even then getting into an IIM will be quite difficult, because they give a significant weightage to your past academics as well. But, there are also some very good institutes at par with the Iims, who do not give that much weightage to your past academics, provided you have a good profile and a very good percentile in CAT.

Being a 2nd year student you do have a lot of time to prepare as next year would largely be focused on your training and the final year on placement. Start preparing bit by bit on your own. Build a strong vocab in next few months followed by writing skills and than appear for a mock or two every month. This would ensure your continuous evaluation and would help to improve until the final day. Give your GMAT in the final year staring as this would help you with enough time to apply for the scholarships and other financial aid.

Hello Shubham,
Not at all, you need not worry about it. During the campus selection, companies give more importance to your interview process, overall performance (academic + Extra-curricular) during your two years' MBA program and your MBA entrance exam(s) and past academic scores (10th, 12th & B Com), rather than seeing which was your graduation degree.

Yes, MAT is easier than other MBA entrance examinations in many aspects. The questions range from easy to moderate level in terms of difficulty hence making it easy for most candidates. There is no sectional time limit, it depends upon the candidates to choose how much they want to spend on a particular section. The former is conducted four times an year, making it more easy for candidates to learn from their mistakes. There is no number of compulsory questions, out of 200 questions, candidates can choose as much as they wish to.

To know more about the MAT examination, refer to the official website.<... First of all, I would say that don't go for B.Ed. In distance mode because every school values the regular B.Ed. More than the distance mode as it is of totally practicing a profession. Besides this some universities are there if you do B.Ed. From those then it will not be considered by the schools as those are not recognized by NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education). Therefore, I will suggest you to go for regular B.Ed. So that you can be an effective teacher.

1. Understand the syllabus
This is a useful tip for almost any exam. Understand the syllabus by going through past years papers and official guidelines. CAT can be segmented into four broad parts-
Quantitative Ability
Data Interpretation
Logical Reasoning
Verbal Ability
The concepts used in this examination are broadly of class 10 level. However, the questions are a little bit tricky to solve and require a good amount of logical thinking. But it can be developed by practice.

Quantitative Analyst (Credit Risk),

Dear Aman, if you are asking that whether Executive MBA is a good career option or not, then I will say a big ‘yes’. Executive MBA is really a high valued and demanding course in today's management market. But, in order to get admission in Ex-MBA, you must have at least 5 year of work experience at Managerial level. Aman, I am not sure that even IIMs offers the post-graduation course in Ex-MBA, but I would suggest you to go for FMS-DU (Faculty of Management Studies - Delhi University). I hope you are well aware about it. Its fees is quite low as compared to other institutions and placement index is significantly high enough. If you did... View more

For the past two years, there have been different questions in each exam part for every position. Though the sectional weighting varies, there are still 200 questions total across all positions. The four subjects on the MBA CET syllabus for 2024 are reading comprehension, quantitative aptitude, abstract reasoning, logical reasoning, and verbal ability. Those who intend to take the MAH MBA CET exam in 2024 should review all of the syllabus's key subjects. The following crucial subjects should be studied from the MBA CET... View more

Current Student- IIT, Delhi,

To be very honest, life doesn't end without getting into an IIT. So if you want your brother to start a fresh with B.Tech. In IIT I'd say, it's really not a good option. Answering the question, first of all IITs do not entertain mid program joining so he'll have to start fresh. Second, if he really wants to enter IIT whatsoever then he should prepare for the JEE Mains and Advanced, get a rank and Kudos. He is in IIT. But he still has to fight, life is no simpler in IIT and the struggle is real.
