XAT 2027 Exam: XLRI, Jamshedpur, conducts XAT exam every year for admission to XAMI institutes. Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2027 will be conducted on January 3. Candidates aspiring for MBA/PGDM admissions at XLRI, XAMI institutes or other XAT colleges can apply for the exam. Based on the past trends, XAT 2027 registration is expected to start in July 2026. XLRI will release XAT exam schedule with the start of the online application process. The XAT exam is conducted in computer based mode at 100+ test cities in India.

XAT 2027 Registration Process
XAT 2027 registration and application form will be released at xatonline website. Check below, XAT exam registration cum application process:
- Open XAT 2027 website:https://xatonline.in/
- Click on 'Registration'
- Select new user and enter basic details to create login
- A unique XAT ID and registration link will be shared in email ID
- Upon clicking the link you will be taken to XAT login dashboard
- Click on XAT 2027 application form
- Enter personal and academic details
- Upload photo and signature
- Select test cities for centre allotment
- Mention work experience (if any)
- Select XLRI Jamshedpur (optional)
- Pay the XAT application fee via credit/debit card, UPI or net banking

XAT Eligibility Criteria 2027
Candidates must meet XAT eligibility criteria to apply for the exam. Check XAT eligibility confitions below:
- Graduation in any stream or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
- Final year graduation students are also eligible to appear for XAT exam.
- There is no minimum score requirement for XAT.

Commonly asked questions
Aspirants should start practicing XAT mock tests after completing the syllabus. Ideal time duration to solve XAT mock tests is October to December. Official mock test is released a week before the exam, so candidates must attempt it at least once before the exam.
In XAT, Reading Comprehension passages are usually taken from Philosophy, Psychology, History, Art, research articles. Sometime, the XAT RC section also has poems. These areas are chosen to test the candidates, who are largely Science, Commerce and Engineering graduates, on their ability to come out of their comfort zone and adapt to unfamiliar situations. Out of 26 questions, about 14-16 questions are based on RC passages or a poem. Candidates must target solving about 10 questions accurately to score well. XAT has negative marking so do not mark an option as your answer if you are not 100 percent sure of it.
As per the latest XAT exam pattern, there will be 95 questions in XAT 2025 in MCQ format.
- Verbal Ability section of XAT will have 26 questions
- Decision Making section of XAT will have 21 questions
- Quantitative Ability section will have 28 questions
- GK section will have 20 questions
There will be no essay writing this year. It will be conducted during the selection process.
It is not mandatory to solve all the questions. Candidates should solve only those questions which they can solve correctly as there is negative marking in XAT. During the exam preparation, focus on the chapters from which majority of the questions are added. This will help them in achieving the sectional and overall cut offs are required.
A candidate should practice at least 35 to 40 XAT mock tests during preparation. They should attempt mocks of various varieties and difficulty levels.
In the last two weeks before XAT exam, they must practice at least five mock tests and analyse performance. It is most likely that by the end of exam preparation, candidates will be scoring 98 plus percentile in mocks. If that happens, they will score well in exam too.
XAT Preparation Tips for 2027
To crack XAT exam with 95+ percentile start preparation early on. You will need about 6 to 8 months to prepare for XAT 2027 as it is a high difficulty level exam. XAT 2027 Admit Card
The XAT admit card will be available for download in the second week of December 2026. Given below is the process to download hall ticket:
- Go to XAT 2027 website
- Click on 'download admit card' tab
- Enter user ID and date of birth
- Login and go to admit card option
- Click on download and save it as pdf
XAT 2027 Answer Key and Response Sheet
XLRI will release XAT 2027 response sheet and answer keys 2-3 days after the exam, for candidates to check their answers. Here’s the process to check and download XAT 2027 answer key:

- Click on text indicating response sheet
- Enter XAT ID and password
- Download XAT 2027 response sheet and answer key
Candidates who feel any official answer key is incorrect, they can challenge it. For that, they will have to fill the XAT answer key objection form available in dashboard. The examination body will go through all objection and revise the answer key if required.

Yes, solving XAT question paper is of immense help in exam preparation as one can get an idea of the exam pattern, difficulty level of the questions, and learn time management. The XAT question papers of previous years also give you an idea of what type of questions (Reading Comprehension passages and poem) are asked in XAT.
