No, It is not mandatory to have JEE for ASE Combiatore, if you not have JEE then you can give Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam (AEEE) entrance test of ASE and you have JEE then you can direct apply for the B.Tech in ASE Coimbatore. 

Candidates must obtain a minimum of 60% aggregate in PCM in Class 12 to be eligible for admission to the BTech course.

Here are the minimum eligibility criteria for Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore:
For BTech Course:
Candidates must have passed 12th class or equivalent from a recognized board with not less than 55% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics separately and an aggregate minimum of 60% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
For Integrated M.Sc Program:
Candidates need to pass 10+2 level examination or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Dear aspirant, The previous years cut-offs for Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University Coimbatore under state quota is 10000 - 22500. For Electronics and Communication Engineering it is from 6800 to 19800 approximately. And for Computer Science Engineering it is 1813- 13800.
