CPL alone doesn't help you land in a cockpit of an airplane. Most of the airlines are hiring CPL holders having type rating done or are willing to do so. Although there are some major airlines like Emirates, Etihad or in India we can say Indigo hiring senior officer pilots on the basis of unblemished past career who have already done some flying hours, satisfying the entry criteria, can also apply for the job. Coming back to you it may take you a year or two after getting your type rating done to fly an airplane.
