The total intake for the BCom LLB (Hons) at ILNU Ahmedabad is of 120 students. The seats are filled based on the applicant's performance in CLAT, the entrance exam counducted by the Consortium of NLUs. Beyond the sanctioned intake, 15% of supernumerary seats are reserved for Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/ Foreign Nationals (FN) and Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries-South East Asia (CIWGC-SEA). ILNU is knows to provide good placement opportunities to its students. ILNU alumini are placed in renowed law firms and corportates, such as Pioneer Legal, HDFC Bank, EY, etc. In 2023, the institute recorded a placement rate of 82% across various law courses that it offers. The institute has not released any placement data specifically applying to BCom LLB (Hons) placements. However, as per the institute's the latest NIRF report (2025), the median package offered during UG 5-year placements in 2023 was INR 4.8 LPA. The institute's UG (5-year) courses include BCom LLB (Hons) and BA LLB (Hons).

ILNU accepts the scores of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for admission its BCom LLB (Hons) programme. CLAT is a national level entrance exam for law courses, conducted by the 18 participating law schools in rotation. The test consists of objective type questions and carries a maximum of 200 marks. ILNU Ahmedabad BCom LLB (Hons) admission is subject to the fulfilment of a preset eligibility criteria. Aspirants must meet the following requirements to be eligible for admission:

  • Candidates must have appeared for CLAT
  • Candidates must have passed class 12 or its equivalent examination with a minimum aggregate of 45%
  • Candidates appearing for the Class 12 examination in May 2024 are also eligible to apply for provisional admission. However, their admission will be confirmed once they submit the documents proving their eligibility.

VELS University follows the reservation guidelines set by the state government. As per the norms, the university provides a reservation of 22% of the seats for candidates belonging to the SC/ST community. Yes, students who wish to cancel their admission at VELS University can get a refund of fees. However, the refund is subject to fulfillment of certain conditions. Listed below are the guidelines to be followed as per the fee refund policy of the university:

  • If students apply for cancellation before the commencement of classes, then the students are entitled to the refund of tuition fees. Registration and admission fees are not refundable.
  • If a student discontinues in the middle of a course, he/she shall be required to pay the tuition fee for the remaining period of the programme.
