B.Sc. Placement

Placements for B.Sc students at Somaiya Vidyavihar University are quite promising. In a batch of 100 students, approximately 30-40 students secure placements in reputable companies with an annual salary package ranging from 2-3 LPA. Moreover, about 10-15 students manage to secure internships with good remuneration, including opportunities with companies like Amazon. The university attracts top recruiters such as Infosys, LTI, TCS, Capgemini, IBM, Accenture, Ugam Solutions, and Hexaware. For students who secure placements through campus interviews, the average salary package is around Rs. 10 Lacs per annum, indicating good career prospects for B.Sc graduates. The placement cell at KJ Somaiya College of Science and Commerce plays an active role, with 65% of students being placed in 2023. The highest package reached 6 LPA, while the average package was in the range of 4-5 LPA, reflecting a positive outlook for placement opportunities.

Packages typically cost between 3 and 5 lakhs. Companies that recruit are hcl, dell, chegg, ey, younity, etc. Good placements are granted to 90% of B.Sc. students.Their professors assist them in landing decent careers. The highest package available is worth 10 Lacs annually. Prominent hiring firms like Delloite, TCS, and Amazon pay this college a visit, and many of their students end up working for these organizations. During the last stage of their studies, students also receive favorable offers.

228 undergraduate students and 12 postgraduate students were placed in the placement for 2022, according to the Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College placement report made public by the NIRF 2023. For UG courses, the median package offered was Rs 5.8 Lacs year, and for PG courses, it was Rs 7.5 Lacs annually. The median CTC increased by 5% for undergraduate courses and 7% for graduate courses in 2022 compared to 2021.

As per the IHM Hyderabad placement data for the year 2019-2020, 45% of the total appeared candidates were placed in the Hotel Industry,  27% in the restaurants/QSR,  16% were placed in the Apparel and Fashion organisations,  8% in the facility management, while 2% were placed in both Airlines and Revenue Management companies.

Hello Nishar Ahmed, placements for undergraduate courses like BA, BCom or BSc are definitely not like placements after graduation in engineering. This is so because it is considered that after engineering majority of the students will look for a job while for other streams of graduations, majority of students may look for doing post graduation in some specialised area. As a result of this it is nightmare to come to conclusion based on this statistics. In the case of DDU under Delhi University the data is not available for different streams of under graduation but this club under single heading called under graduate students. Total number of students place or short of hundred out of about 800 students who pass out. But interesting aspect is that more than two and half times the number of students placed or not even looking for response but see admission for higher studies. Whenever a student who is intending to do BSc most look at this aspect and not get swayed by figures of placements.
