The exam is conducted by the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).

Candidates must fill an online application form & upload required documents and pay the exam fee before the last date.

The placement rates for B.Sc students at IHM Delhi and IHM Chennai differ as Delhi has about 100% placement rate in 2023.and Chennai reporting a 32% placement rate in 2021. In 2021, Delhi had a greater CTC (Cost to Cost) of 4.80LPA and Chennai had CTC of 3LPA in 2020. Delhi had higher number that is 40 recruiters of visiting the campus in 2023 but the Chennai which had 25 recruiters in 2016.
