IIIT Bhopal BTech admission starts with the release of JEE Main dates. As per the schedule, to be eligible for BTech admission at this institute, candidates must appear for the JEE Main exam. JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam will be held from January 21, 2026 to January 30, 2026 and session 2 will be held from April 2, 2026 to April 9, 2026.

No, BTech programme isn't free at IIIT Bhopal. Candidates seeking to get admission are required to pay the tuition fee which ranges between INR 7.2 lakh, the fees excludes of Eamination Fee of Semester Registration Fee,  Library Fee,  Laboratory Fee, Internet Fee, etc. However IIIT Bhopal does have scholarship schemes for students. The total course fee for BTech at IIIT Bhopal is around INR 7.2 lakh. Total fee is calculated based on annual/ semester fee available for the academic year 2023-24, hence is indicative. Students can apply to State/Central government Scholarships. Along with the tuition fee, JEE Main application fee for BTech programme is also included. The application fee are  INR 1,000 for boys and for girls, it is INR 800.

The selection to IIIT Bhopal BTech programme is based on the candidate’s JEE Main exam score followed by the centralised counselling process regulated by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) through which they are allotted a seat. The seat allotment also depends on the college cutoff and a candidate’s preference for that course and college. JoSAA registrations usually begin from the third week of June in online mode. However, the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) manages the counselling process for the remaining vacant seats.

 The institute is ranked 30 among the top colleges of India under the “Engineering” category by NIRF in 2022 rankings. During IIT Jodhpur placements in 2022, the median and average package offered to BTech CSE students was INR 28.7 LPA and INR 28 LPA, respectively. The top recruiters of IIT Jodhpur in 2022 included Accenture, Amazon, IBM, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Adobe, etc.

 Admission to the course is entrance-based. Aspirants are required to take JEE Main and JEE Advanced. The selected students based on merit in JEE Advanced further have to participate in JoSAA rounds of counselling. The seat allotment process is then carried out as per performance in counselling and other selection rounds.
