Yes, candidates passing Class 12 with at least 80% aggregate are eligible for direct admission to BTech course. Additionally, Admission to BTech course is based on national or state-level Engineering entrance exam or AMCAT score. The university also accepts CUET UG or JEE Main score for admission to all BTech specialisations. The university also accepts NEET score for BTech Biotechnology. Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For general category under All India, opening rank was 12271 and closing rank was 14122. Cut off are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 18693 and 18693. Admission to B.Tech. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in IIT Bhubaneswar - Indian Institute of Technology is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying while checking for cut offs.

The cutoff trend for B.Tech at IIT Bhubaneswar - Indian Institute of Technology has been increasing in the recent years. In 2021, the closing rank for B.Tech. under general category for all India quota was 2304. In 2022, it increased to 2769. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 740 to 859 for OBC, 439 to 366 for SC, 291 to 204 for ST, 292 to 355 for EWS. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.

The last year 2022 cutoff ranks for B.Tech. in Civil Engineering + M.Tech. in Transportation Engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar - Indian Institute of Technology other than General category are - 5008 for OBC, 2628 for SC, 2050 for EWS. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.
