BCA is a job oriented degree course and you can go for job immediately after BCA in Small and Medium size IT companies. Unfortunately Indian IT industry does not prefer BCA for entry level Developer and Testers role. BCA graduates may get junior developer or Application support jobs. BCA degrees can only help you to get only entry level jobs and will require acquisition of PG degrees such as MCA and M.Sc IT for a meaningful career.

1st semester: Mathematics foundation, Computer Fundamentals and IT, Business Communication, Programming in C.
2nd semester: Discrete Mathematics, DBMS, Accounting, Data structure in C.
3rd semester: Computer Organization and Architecture, Statistics, OOP in C+, Fundamentals of Management.
4th semester: Java, Operating Systems, Visual Basic, Computer Network.
5th semester: Software Engineering, Computer Graphics, Numerical methods, web designing.
6th semester is only about project reports and viva-practicals based on internship projects.

BCA being a technical course needs complete attention. It is always good to pursue BCA from a regular college than from distance, as the knowledge and skills you get in full time are impossible to get in distance learning. And moreover, no open university provide you placement options.
