Sorry to say but with a distance education degree, it will be quite tough for you to apply for any government job in a school because basic the eligibility for maximum posts demand regular degrees.

BCA Eligibility
Candidates who wish to pursue BCA course must fulfill the below mentioned eligibility criteria.
Pass in 10+2 examination in any stream from a recognized board of education.
English as a subject of study.
A minimum aggregate score of 45% at 10+2 level.
*Some colleges prefer students from science stream or those who have studied mathematics and computer science at 10+2 level.

If you have done BCA, you qualify the eligibility criteria to opt for MCA and hence it hardly matters whether you were from science or commerce background.

BCA gives a student with a solid platform to further his career in the field of technology but it is strongly recommended that a student should opt for MCA to further his prospects in this competitive world. You must opt for MCA correspondence and then pursue PhD as you already have teaching experience and these degrees will further enhance your prospects of becoming a lecturer. You may also opt for NET exam.
