No, why would you choose Biomedical in PG, you can go with VLSI or some other things related to ECE which makes you get placed in good companies. And even biomedical Engineering doesn't have much scope in India.

There are equal opportunities for a biomedical engineer in public sector as well as private sectors. Many private firms that manufacture medical equipments also recruit biomedical engineers. Many Government hospitals also recruit biomedical engineers for the purpose of selecting, handling as well as maintaining complex medical devices. There are various job opportunities available for them abroad also. Hospitals abroad usually recruit them as clinical engineers. There are various job opportunities available for them in the teaching field also.

It really depends on your long-term goals. If it's 'just' for money, then, no. If it has to know about medical technologies and research in depth, enough to be able to contribute confidently in a meaningful way, then yes. Especially if you want to get an insight into how these medical devices are made and the thought processes. You can do this with a BS, but with a Ph.D. you can catch on quickly, and you also learn the history behind some of the design decisions and parameters, as well as learn in depth where to get materials or even how to make them yourself.

It's great that you have scored 177 in the Tamil Nadu entrance exam. You can go for colleges like TCE Madurai, RMD tamilnadu, KCT Coimbatore etc. For biomedical engineering. Also, participate in the counselling process wisely and smartly. Wait till the last round of the counselling process and choose a good college.
