After considering the placement report of 2016 for IIT, Guwahati in biotechnology engineering branch, out of the 40 students who enrolled for placements, 32 got placed. Some core companies this visit like Biocon, Narayan Cadillac, Sun Pharma, Ranbaxy, Brenntag Industries, etc. But gave away very few offers, Also these placements were mostly considering Business Intelligence, data analytics, banking finance, marketing and other such companies due to the lack of ample of core biotechnology companies visiting the campus and thus rolled out IT based roles. B.Tech course is the better option. Selection will be on the basis of the engineering entrance examination and marks obtained in Plus Two or equivalent examinations in Science subjects. No, there is no entrance exam to get seat for biotechnology at Symbiosis. You need to appear in the personal interview round after completion of application form.

Yes, since you have completed B.Sc in biotechnology, you are definitely eligible for M.Sc degree in Geneti Engineering as it is a specialised branch in the same.
