Here are tips on preparing for CAT-
1. Complete the basics | Revise the basics:By basics, we mean what should be able to solve every question given in the books without any problem. If you have already completed the material available to you, then move on to other books. We would recommend RS Agrawal for all topics. Once you have completed the basics, start the cycle of revising them all. You will definitely score more than 80 percentile in CAT if you have done the basics.

In my opinion, SIMCAT is definitely the closest test series to CAT. However, there is an important thing to keep in mind- CAT is an unpredictable test.
Mock analysis is the most important part of the preparation. You take the mock only to get accustomed to the actual test interface, and to check your intellectual prowess. But the mock is not your actual test, so you ought to improve with every mock. You note your strengths and weaknesses, rectify your mistakes, check time spent on each question/passage/case let, check time spent by others, your accuracy, marks per minute and perhaps get a video solution to every question.
