According to me, CAT is tough when compared with IIFT. CAT is a well-known, most rated exam for management studies in different IIMs.

You have not specified the college you are seeking admission to. But I see that you have a Diploma. Unfortunately, Diploma is not considered as a graduation course. The minimum requirement for applying to MBA is, the candidate must have completed his/her Bachelor's degree with 50% of marks from a recognised university.

If you have experience in the range of 0-1 years, then please do not go for MBA correspondence, go for a regular MBA programme. A person with a good amount of experience in his career or field of interest might find MBA through correspondence helpful. But all fresher's and those who have not settled with a career, you should try to go for regular MBA programs.

I would not say that having maths in +2 is compulsory for attempting CAT. I would rate maths in CAT as a bit advanced version of what you have learned till 10th. If you are aiming for the top colleges, then yes it would be a problem. But for colleges that ask for cutoffs in the range of 50-70, then maths wouldn't be a problem. Even performing average in maths could possibly get you to that score. But ensure that you are able to ace all other sections. If you want to get good score, I suggest you attend a few coaching classes. Brush up on the basics and practice hard.

You have not specified the college you are seeking admission to. Generally, for top MBA college including private ones, you need to achieve a really good score in CAT exam. 90 percentile or more. But a score above 50%ile is considered decent for admission to many private institutions.

Your marks are too low for admission to any government college. But you can secure admission in private colleges. Generally, private BBA programs are a bit expensive compared to the government ones.

That's a reasonably good score, with that score your son can quite easily secure admission in Christ University. Provided he qualifies any other requirements laid out by the University.
