Simply put, Masters in Business Administration or MBA is a degree course offered by the Universities (both Government and Private) and Colleges affiliated to these Universities. Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is a Diploma programme offered by B-schools/Colleges that are recognised by Government of India's nodal body for technical education - All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Now one must understand that there are Business Schools which are good for MBA and there are Business Schools which are good for PGDM also. Its not appropriate to decide which course is better. Student must decide only the Business School. Just like Universities how they have a value based on their reputation. It would be wise to choose a Business School, on several parameters (Placement, Faculty, curriculum, exposure, teaching methodology, fee, etc. ). As per my experience and observation, genuinely speaking, if you have both options to do MBA or PGDM from an average college or an average B-school, it would be better recommended toopt for PGDM. Yes dear, definitely, you can get a call from a good college. You have good Academic score. Are you targeting any particular College? If so, please mention then it will be easier for us to help. But depending on your score you can apply to IMI, TAPMI, KIAMS, TSM, PSGIM, IBS, XIME, BIMM. All these are good colleges. Please check their websites and also have a talk with the current students if possible.
