It may not have a direct impact but a good GMAT score indicates your ability and skills. So, the employers value a good GMAT score. A good GMAT score will also lead you to a good business school which will eventually open up avenues. Also, there are many companies which asks for a GMAT score like McKinsey which means they do evaluate a candidate's academic ability. Read this:
