This is because examination pattern for different entrance keeps on changing and there is no proper clear-cut demarcation on the cut-off. Difficulty level fluctuates and so do the student SET. The score of CAT 2016 was valid only for the last year's academic session I.e. 2017-19 only, and not for the 2018-20 session (unlike GMAT). The field totally depends on interest, be it finance, marketing, HR or any other. CAT 2018 exam will be in the year's end, I.e. November-December. Getting a percentile of atleast 90 will fetch you a reputed B-School.
