Admission at SPJIMR depends on a lot of factors and eligibility criteria, score in CAT/XAT/GMAT exam. We cannot reveal the exact score required for admissions but higher the score, better are the chances of final selection. For detailed admission criteria please follow the website link:

There is no weight-age for work experience in majority of IIMs. Students with work experience may get a minor edge during Personal Interview. Admission in IIMs after CAT is based on following criteria:
(a) GDPI Call: 70% weightage will be given to the scores of CAT and 30% weightage to the Application Rating Score (Xth marks, XIIth marks, Graduation Marks)
(b) Final Selection: Group Discussion: 10%, Personal Interview: 40%, weightage to the Composite Score at the final stage of selection to arrive at the Aggregate Score: 50%
Above mentioned weightage vary in different IIMs.

Hello Hardik,
To be honest, nobody else but you can answer this question best. If you are interested in your family business, then go for it. Or, if you believe you have better chances with CAT (MBA), then choose MBA.
You also have an option of gaining experience from that business first and then pursuing CAT.

Apologies for the late reply! Yes, there is a penalty of -1 mark levied for every wrong answer in the CAT exam. The marking pattern is +3, -1; no mark is deducted for an unattempted question.

Hello! Apologies for the late reply! Yes, you can appear for CAT since you are in the final year. However, you have to ensure that all the pending backlogs are cleared by the time the college starts its academic session(of course, provided you get admission there). The colleges state a specific deadline within which all the necessary mark sheets and other relevant documents should be duly submitted.

With only 70 percentile in CAT, it is impossible to get into a good and reputed college, as the cutoff of such colleges is, generally, 85 percentile and above. And the ones you might get at that score will be average. I suggest you reappear for CAT(and/or other exams) and aim for a much better score. Good luck!
