Dear aspirant, Glad to meet you. UGC (University Grants Commission) does not approve Distance Ph.D. courses in India. The UGC released the circular containing this information in 2017, and it stated that the Ph.D. degrees that have been granted by distance education mode would no longer be recognised. Therefore, only full-time Ph.D. degrees and part-time Ph.D. degrees will be approved as valid Ph.D. degrees in India. Dear aspirant, The NIOS board is valid for Canada but it is not valid in all the Canadian colleges. Many Canadian Colleges don't take it as valid proof for taking the admission as it is considered inferior to the other Indian boards like ICSE/CBSE/UP Board. NIOS Certificate value in Canada is low in comparison to the United States.
