There are three stages, which aspirants follow to prepare for CAT examination:
1. Start with self-preparation by getting material from the market.
2. Joining a good coaching institutes like TIMES, IMS, Career Launcher, etc.
3. You should practice old papers.

Therefore, I will advise you to prepare for CAT, XAT, IIFT, IRMA, SNAP and NMAT to increase your chances to pursue MBA from top B-school, beside MAT. You are advised to prepare well for 2017 examinations.

Yes, of course. Try scoring well in your remaining exams (at least first class, if not distinction) as all the top IIMs check your past academic scores too i.e. 10th, 12th and graduation. In CAT, you need to give your best shot and ensure your score clears the required cutoffs of the different IIMs.
