You cannot directly pursue Ophthalmology (as a doctor or surgeon) after 10th. However:

  • Paramedical Option: You can take up short-term diplomas like Ophthalmic Assistant after 10th.

  • Doctor Pathway: You'll need to complete 12th (PCB), then MBBS, then MS Ophthalmology to become a specialist.

The questions asked in CBSE 10th, 12th board exams are taken from NCERT textbooks. The questions are based on concepts and exercises included in these books or may be slightly modified versions of them. Further, questions from previous years' ques papers and, in some cases, the NCERT Exemplar problems for Science and Mathematics are also included.

The CBSE primarily follows the NCERT textbooks for all classes. While schools can use supplementary materials and reference books, NCERT books are the core of CBSE syllabus to ensure a uniform standard across all affiliated schools.

No, one should apply for the CBSE supplementary exams before the last date. The students need to apply online by filling an application form and depositing fees. Now, that you have missed applying for the same, you can give the examinations in the next academic year.
