The SAT pattern has changed in May 2016 so you need to apprise yourself of the changed pattern first. The SAT scores are valid for 5 years so yes you can take it in 10th or you may go for PSAT which will prepare you better. Here is the info

Also given that you have an average score in class 10th and 12th, you would need to do really well in your college. Hence is it doubly important that you pick your stream carefully based on your interest and your strengths. To get into IIMs, you will need to write CAT in your final year and get a good score so that you get interview calls.
