The Central Universities Act of 2009, which founded the institution in 2007, was passed by the Indian Parliament. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted recognition to the university. The Central University of Gujarat, often known as CUG, received a "B+" mark from NAAC for accreditation. The university has 11 schools 22 Centres, one autonomous Centre, and 66 programmes of study. NIRF 2023 has placed CUG 44th among India's leading universities. Admission to the University is dependent upon passing the entrance test, as CUG has decided that CUET will be required of all applicants.

You can apply for MA English at CUG through CUET-PG, which is a national-level entrance exam conducted by NTA. Interested candidates have to appear for CUET-PG in order to take admission in the Central Univeristy of Gujarat.

The University of Gujarat has begun with admissions process. Aspirants have to deposit a specific amount for the application form. Registration fee is INR 650, and INR 800 respectively for both UG and PG programmes. The amount for the application form is non-refundable. Moreover, candidates can download their admit cards available on the official website of the college. Candidates have to pay no other fee other than registration fee while the prcoess. They can select the payment mode according to their convenience.

After completing Class 12 from any board the interested candidates are eligible to apply for Central University of Gujarat:
- Firstly, they have to fill up the application form available on the official website of the college.
- Then they have to appear for CUET exam. Central University of Gujarat admissions are entirely based on merit basis.
