Hi Priti,
Yes, you can. The UPSC eligibility criteria want you to be a graduate in any stream. But, do give it a thought why you want to pursue fashion and then become an IAS. It gets quite contradictory.

BA is better. You will have a choice to choose optional subjects. It is better you choose History, Political Science, Geography, etc., subjects. Even you can do B.Sc, but BA is better. You will be having much time to prepare for IAS if you choose BA.

It depends on the student, his efforts, concentration, hard work, passion, deep desire. But for average students, it may take at least 2-3 attempts.

Firstly, you have to pursue a course for graduation i.e. B.Tech B.Sc, etc. And then, you can further apply for the UPSC exam. Leave an upvote if you satisfied with the answer.

Hi Neha!
There are 2 papers in the IFS or CSE/ IAS 2018 Preliminary exam, namely
Paper 1 - General Knowledge and
Paper 2- General Studies
There are 100 questions in Paper 1, and 80 questions in the paper 2.

Hello,
Yes, it is helpful because unfortunately B.Com and BA syllabus tally with GS papers apart from the optional subject. So, if you take economics, it is really helpful in the exam, but you have to study very carefully and with clear understanding.

Hello,
Yes, BA in Sociology helps in clearing the exam as there are some portions in GS Paper 1 which came from sociology but if you take history, geography or economics, it will be beneficial as compared to sociology.

You can prepare from home as many online websites have free coaching and everything is in the internet. Or, you may also go to various academies because they will guide you in a correct way. This is the right time for preparation as you are in your undergraduate course.

The Union Public Service Commission UPSC Civil Services Exam Syllabus is divided into three categories, namely Preliminary, Mains and Interview.
