I hope you are talking about this college only. For getting Diploma in Marine Engineering, IMUCET is not required. It is because this exam is fundamentally to screen candidates for admission in Engineering College leading to degree of Marine Engineering. ECE is better than mechanical group in terms of placements. But if you are interested in mechanical then take it. Your interest can make you much better later and you can easily get a job if you are in your interested group. So follow your interest.
