For the admission in B.E./B.Tech, candidates appearing in the Higher Secondary or 10+2 examination with 45% marks in Science stream comprising Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects are eligible for admission at Durgapur Institute of Advanced Technology and Management (DIATM). Admissions are strictly on merit and West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination vacancies account for 90% in total. Furthermore, up to 10% of seats can be reserved based on scores in the JEE Main. In addition, Diploma holders may also gain lateral entry by appearing in the JELET examination.

The hostel charges of Durgapur Institute of Advanced Technology and Management (DIATM) 2024-25 are on the charge on the room type. Thus, it is ?32,000 as per the charges to occupy a 4-seater?33,000 for 3-seater?38,400 per student to lodge in a 2-seater, and ?42,000 for a 2-seater room with an attached washroom. They charged them, fooding and lodging for six months without taking a hostel admission fee from them, a one time amount of ?1,000. These hostel facilities give the students a comfortable stay environment and are therefore a part of the college experience.

Shortlisted candidates have to appear for a Group Discussion (GD), a Written Ability Test (WAT) and a Personal Interview (PI). - For Open/OBC/EWS category: 6.0 CGPA or 55% aggregate in a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university/institute
- For SC/ST category: 5.5 CGPA or 50% aggregate in a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university/institute
