No, CAT is not compulsory to get admission in Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management. The college offers admission into MBA bvased on NUCAT scores. Other entrance exams accepted by the college include: CAT, MAT, CMAT, or KMAT.

BTech seats at the Manipal Institute of Technology are allotted based on a merit system. The university assigns a 50% weightage to the marks scored in the online entrance test and the remaining 50% weightage to the candidate's Class 12 board marks. 

After ranks are out, qualified applicants need to participate in the Manipal Institute of Technology BTech counselling. In this process, candidates need to list their preferred engineering specialisations based on their merit ranks, either online or offline.
