Getting admission into Universal Engineering College (UEC) is generally not very difficult compared to top engineering institutions in Kerala. For students applying through KEAM, the college accepts candidates with moderate to above-average ranks, with closing ranks for popular branches like Computer Science and Electronics often around 40,000 to 50,000. This makes UEC accessible to many students who may not secure seats in highly competitive government or top private colleges. Moreover, the availability of management quota and NRI quota seats allows students to get admission directly based on their 12th marks without KEAM, though thes

Apart from these, the college supports various government and AICTE scholarship schemes such as the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFW), Pragati for girl students, Saksham for differently-abled students

The quality of food in the hostel mess at Universal Engineering College (UEC) is generally considered average to satisfactory by most students. The mess provides both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, and meals typically follow a set South Indian menu with rice, curry, vegetables, sambar, rasam, and occasional special dishes. According to student reviews, the food is hygienic and nutritious, but the variety can feel repetitive over time. Some students have expressed that the taste could be improved and that the food tends to be on the simpler side, focusing more on health than on rich or spicy flavors. The college ensures that the
