For admission to three-year PG course of MD at KGMU, candidates are required to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria in the first place. Candidates who passed MBBS with 50% aggregate are eligible to apply for this course. KGMU MD admissions are done based on the NEET PG entrance exam scores, which is conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE). Further, the final seat allotment to selected candidates is done through a state level counselling process, i.e., UP NEET PG, which is held by Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET). As per the selection criteria, candidates are selected based on both past academic records and scores of entrance exams.

Goel Group of Institutions offers partial admissions based on valid scores of national/state-level entrance exams for the respective courses. The remaining seats are filled with Management quota. Futher, direct admissions are also available for courses such as BTech, where students are offered direct admission to the second year of the course through Lateral Entry.
