NEHU Shillong has a big campus and provides various facilities to students. North Eastern Hill University also provides a hostel facility for various national and international students with 24 rooms and with a proper seat intake capacity. NEHU University has a computer lab, chemistry lab, electrical lab, electronics lab, and others. Students must visit the campus themselves and see what all facilities are being offered by the university. The facilities provided by the university are great and benefit various Indian as well as international students.

NEHU Shillong, through 79 colleges affiliated with it, offers postgraduate, undergraduate, PhD, and various other courses to students. Some of the colleges affiliated with North Eastern Hill University are St. Edmund’s College, St. Anthony’s College, Lady Keane College, St. Mary’s College, St. Mary’s College of Teacher Education, Union Christian College, and several others. Most of the colleges under the NEHU Shillong are UGC (University Grants Commission) approved and are accredited with A Grade by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council).

At the postgraduate level, NEHU Shillong offers two-year MSc courses to students. The basic eligibility criteria to apply for the MSc course is a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 55 percent aggregate and the accepted entrance exam is CUET-PG. CUET PG or Central University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) is an all-India level entrance examination. The basic eligibility criteria to apply for the M.A. in Geography is Graduation with a minimum of 45 percent to 55 percent aggregate and the accepted entrance exam is CUET-PG. Not all course admissions at NEHU University Shillong are based on CUET. BTech admissions are based on JEE Main. For various courses like BCA, BA, BSc, and others, CUET is accepted by the NEHU University Shillong. CUET (Common University Entrance Test) is an all-India level entrance examination which is conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The competition is high so prepare well in advance to clear the CUET exams with good scores.

Both the NEHU campuses -Tura and Shillong, offer MBA courses to students across various specialisations. The Management faculty are PhD, diploma, and various other degree holders. Both universities provide great placements to MBA course students. Students can select any of the colleges and apply for admission to various courses. The eligibility criteria for MBA is a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 60 percent aggregate and the accepted entrance exams are GATE or MAT and CUET-PG.
