B.Tech in Solar and Alternative Energy is a niche branch of engineering. Its scope and opportunities can not be compared with Core branches of engineering. However, B.Tech Solar and Alternative Energy can expect to good reasonably good job in Medium size manufacturing companies. Grads may get job in Gulf countries where there is lot of demand for alternate energy professionals.

BTech Solar & Alternative Energy is a very specific niche engineering graduation degree which may have opportunities in future. It is suggested that you may prefer any core branch of Engineering over it for better career opportunities. You may go for Alternative Energy specialization in MTech or MS.

Hello Sharath,
Considering your boards marks Amity University doesn't match your class, you just need a push to be in top IIT's or Nit's, so it will be better for you to prepare well for next year. However, you may check here for more details of the colleges according to your rank:

There are many institutes. No institute is better than IITs, NITs and BITS. You have to study there. Go for the college which has tie ups with companies.
