For the PG Diploma courses, CUET-PG is accepted. However, the institute may admit students through its own entrance test. The syllabus of the entrance exam for Journalism courses (Hindi, English and Urdu) comprises questions from General Awareness, Aptitude and Mental Makeup, Language Capability, Analytical and Comprehension Skills, Ethics & Values, and Sensitivity to social issues.

IIMC Delhi PG Diploma admission is based on CUET-PG score. Shortlisted candidates further have to go through a centralised counselling process. After the provisional admission during counselling, a centralised registration process is carried out by IIMC Delhi for document verification. In this round, the selected students have to present a printout of the NIC form filled during counselling with the ink signature of their parents for final admission.

The duration of a PG Diploma course at IIMC Delhi is one-year. These courses are divided into two semesters. Students have to pass each semester to become eligible to get Diploma at the end of the course. The executive diploma course of the institute is 6-months long.
