To get selected for BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) in India, students need to take the NEET (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test) and achieve a minimum percentile. The minimum qualifying percentile for BDS admission is 50th for the general category and 40th for SC/ST/OBC categories. Private dental colleges usually require a minimum of the 50th percentile for the unreserved category. In addition to the qualifying percentile, the minimum qualifying marks for the general category are around 720-130. For reserved categories, the corresponding marks are lower. For example, the minimum marks for SC/ST/OBC categories are around 129-104.
