To tell you frankly, in India, there is an acute shortage of these professionals. You can definitely switch your profession to counselling. However I would like to advise you to undergo some training of counselling so that you will be able to perform the job in a better fashion. If you cannot go to a normal college maybe because you are working, I would recommend that you should download the brochure cum application form of the best open University of India that is IGNOU. You can definitely find out the name addresses and telephone numbers of all engineering colleges in the place where you are at the moment living and working. Once you do this then start ringing up one by one and finding out if they offer part time postgraduate course in the branch that you desire.
