Hello Vishwanath, normally speaking, admissions to engineering colleges in any state or in centrally funded institutions is based on some or the other entrance exam. Notable exception is Tamil Nadu where admissions are given based on marks obtained in 12th. Some deemed to be universities also give admission to merit holders of different boards directly without any entrance exam. But for rest, it's either JEE Mains or state CET or institution's own CET.
