The fee varies from institute to institute. Approximate fee is around Rs 38,000 for film making course.

To get admission in MIT for film-making you need to appear for MIT NAT and you need to have 10+2 (For Sound Recording course 10+2 with physics compulsory).
The selection is based on the MIT NAT marks and performance in personal interview.

If it is truly your passion then let your parents know and try to convince them, if they don't understand, it's still your decision and just go with it. Collect money and join an institution for Diploma in film editing, after that you must go and find a small production firm and apply your skills to grow and learn with hands-on experts. But, initially, you won't be making money and that's an important part because it's not important, if your passion drives you, you will make it through.
