RBI Assistant Mains exam is conducted for the qualified candidates of the prelims exam. The exam is conducted in few selected cities. The list of test cities for RBI Assistant Mains exam is given below:

A total of 950 vacancies were announced for RBI Assistant recruitment exam in 2022. Out of the total vacancies, 440 were for General category, 146 were for OBC, 151 were for SC and 123 for ST. The state-wise RBI Assistant vacancies are given below:

The selection of candidates are done based on the prelims exam and Mains exam. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for the final merit. The final selection of candidates is done based on the Mains exam. Candidates qualifying the Mains exam are called for local language test.

The total duration of the preliminary exam is 60 minutes. Each section of the prelims exam is conducted for 20 minutes. Candidates need to complete the paper within 135 minutes. The duration of the test of Reasoning is 30 minutes, Test of English Language is 30 minutes, Test of Numerical Ability is 30 minutes, Test of General Awareness is 25 minutes and Test of Computer Knowledge is 20 minutes. Candidates provisionally shortlisted from the Mains exam have to undergo the LPT. The test is conducted in the Official/Local Language of the state. Candidates who are not proficient in the local language are disqualified. RBI Assistant Language Proficiency Test assesses a candidate's proficiency in reading, writing and speaking the official language of the state for which they are applying. RBI Assistant Local Language Test is conducted in the official language of the state and comprises two components-written and spoken. The written component evaluates a candidate's knowledge of the grammar, vocabulary and comprehension. While, the spoken component evaluates their fluency and pronunciation of the local language test.

For correct answers, candidates score three marks. The score of candidates is calculated after deducting AFCAT negative marking
There is AFCAT negative marking. One mark is deducted for every incorrect answer
No marks are allotted to unattempted questions
Normalisation of marks is done to calculate the scores of candidates. The normalisation of scores is done since the exam is conducted in multiple shifts. It is done to adjust the difficulty level of question papers across various session.
